EAQA Register Committee decided to remove the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) from the register
During their meeting last month, the EAQA Register Committee decided to remove the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) from the register after concluding that the agency is no longer able to “act autonomously” and is no longer in a position to assume “full responsibility for [its] operations”, as required by ESG standard 3.3. The decision was taken following an investigation into the dismissal of KAA’s Board (State Quality Council) and Acting Director by the Minister of Education, Science and Technology last September. The investigation was unable to identify any circumstances that would justify such a dismissal without risking KAA’s independence and its ability to operate without serious risk of third party influence. Details of the investigation are available on EQAR’s website. KAA has 90 days to appeal the Register Committee’s decision.
