EAQA has launched a working group on the quality assurance of research, co-chaired by Hcéres (France) and UKÄ (Sweden) The group will explore the assessment of research-based learning, institutions’ research policy, and quality assurance processes of research. The topic is of relevance in the current European policy agenda due to recent developments in the area of research assessment and discussions about the revision of the ESG. Participating agencies will have the opportunity to share their experience, learn from other agencies and contexts, and further explore the contribution that external quality assurance can make to the quality assurance of research and the links between research and learning and teaching. This working group is part of EAQA's efforts to explore topics of particular interest and relevance to its membership. The European policy agenda on quality assurance in education and training is guided by the Common Principles for Quality Assurance. The 2023 European Quality Assurance Forum will also address questions related to quality assurance policies and practices that support new forms of internationalization. The Forum will be of interest to rectors and vice-rectors responsible for quality assurance, quality assurance officers in higher education institutions, students, quality assurance agency staff, and researchers working in higher education or in the quality assurance field.
